Vikinghorses !

This is my horse and a couple og his friends. From the left is ; Tengel, Vulkan and Svartløken. They like to run and play in the snow. All three are of the old breed Nordlandshorse. The name tells us that the breed come from the north of Norway. And it`s one of three Norwegian horsebreeds. This horse was used by the vikings and has many similarites to the Icelandic horse. The Nordlandshorse is a working horse and a real tuff one to. But after world war to there was only 15 - 20 left of this old breed. Some Norwegians started to try saving the breed and today there are about 3000 Nordlandshorses registreted. It has become a populare ridinghorse . The horse is 125 - 145 cm tall and a perfect horse for children. And most of all , a great friend !

My cousin raises these horses near Skien. Not only are they beautiful, with the long mane and bangs, but they're just like dogs. Very affectionate and interested in anything the humans are up to.
