Numedal is renowned for its stabburs, but few people have had the opportunity to stay overnight in one of these fine old buildings. "Crime evening"

Each summer since 2001 there has been arranged a "Middel ages week" in Rollag, and Numedal valley, where you can take part in various and exciting adventures along the entire valley. This week there is a multitude of events at different privat middel ages farms, tours and concerts in rich decorated stave churches and middel ages buildings.

Last night there was a "crime evening", where we were told old local criminal stories and legends. The picture shows the two storytellers. :o)

This is part of a door - it's a keyhole and a doorknob. The door is placed on a stabbur. Not the ones I posted in May though, but a similar stabbur.

Stabbur

A "stabbur" is a house on a farm. It is built in wood, and raised from the ground by pillars to avoid the access of rodents.

Today has been a very warm and sunny day - the summer has arrived Rollag!! :o)
